m4a plays static?
« on: April 27, 2010, 09:27:44 pm »

I only hear static when I play m4a files with MC14 and MC15.  I'm pretty sure that m4a files played fine a couple months ago ( before I installed MC 15).  Do I need to install a plugin to play m4a files?

Take a look at the wiki article on DirectShow.  You'll need to install the DCBass filter.

In my case I need to Set up: "JRiver Video Engine (Using DirectShow Filters)" and DC-Bass filter, if i set up to JRiver Audio Engine it only gives me white noise

The problem is fixed in MC15 build 32 and later.

I am using MC15, latest build (032). m4a playback does work via direct sound, but there is NO sound with wasapi. I can watch the progress of playback (which seems to be a little to fast), but there is no sound whatsoever.
