list 'recent albums' missing since 15.0.35
« on: May 08, 2010, 02:28:36 pm »

Hi everybody !
I'm using MC for the last 6 months to great pleasure, it has nice features and the sound is really good too.
I've upgraded from 14 to 15 without any problems. But as I tried to go from version 15.0.23 to 15.0.35 I've lost all list informations about my recent added albums. I tried to restore the library but this didn't help.
So I decided to go back to 15.0.23.
Is this a bug of the actual version or did I missed the trick ?
Thanks for your help,
greetings from Berlin,
Martin

Under MC's options/ General/Advanced, there is a setting for "Clear Recently Imported".

thanks for the quick response.

I'm afraid "Clear Recently Imported" didn't solve my problem because I LOST my list of the last months imported
albums.

you could make one yourself. which in the end is better than relying on mcs list
make a new smartlist, add last media type is audio, and add date imported in the last what ever months, and sort them by date imported.
you could even do it with a view (that is what i do) with panes and make a column there that gives you the imports per day or something like that.

Open the tag window and choose the option for "Show all tags".  Then look for the Date Imported tag.  Make sure it's showing in your view (click at the top of the window to customize what is shown).

Then sort by date imported by clicking at the top of that column.  Select what you want and add the files to a playlist.

Thanks guys - you are great !

I was just curious why this problem didn't appear in all my last upgrades ?!

My behaviour in organizing my music is a bit old school (and chaotic)...
I have a lot of vinyl and sorting it in 'clusters'. I don't know exactly where a specific album is but I 'feel' it.
So I did it with my CDs as well.

Now I decided to go the computer route because it will be the future in the digital domain.
But this will need a complete different organization and that's new to me.
So please be patient with my sometimes stupid questions...

Smartlist should be the way to go !

Cheers,
Martin

... and a special greet to potsdam !

never be afraid to ask. i think in this forum no questions are considered stupid. and when you hang on to it and take some time exploring smartlists and views, you might even get some old school organization back. enjoy the road.
