What are the best filters/renderer to play WMV I am having a problem with fast forward.

There is not much configuration you can do, especially the filter selection. For seeking problem, try changing the setting "Use WMV acceleration if available" at Tools > Options > Video > Video.

I had problems with seeking in WMV files then I switched to Use Windows Media Player Engine. Or JRiver Engine using the Windows DMO decoders for audio and video.
