PAL format DVDs
« on: June 03, 2010, 06:39:29 am »

Please help.....

Can MC15 play PAL format (all region) DVDs without any issues? I tried one, and seems to be working fine.
Before I purchase more, I wish to make sure it is ok. I live in USA which follows NTSC format.

I have the latest version of MC15.

Please let me know.

I believe that depends more on how the drive is set than on MC.  If the drive can read the discs, MC should be able to play them.  I'm not aware of any unusual problems related to region.

Drives usually can only be changed a limited number of times.  You might read about that first.

There are some region-free utilities.  AnyDVD, I believe.

MC plays NTSC and PAL based DVD's just fine.  The issue Jim is pointing out is that if using commercial disks from different DVD Regions (eg 1,2,3,4,5) you may need a utility to either remove the regions, or reset your Drives Region counter.

Thanks so much. I shall research on those lines.
