Hello,
I just installed MC for the first time yesterday. But I am having difficulty importing audio folders/files to the Audio section of MC. I can find and playback files in the Drives & Devices section.
All of my music files are located as follows:
M:\Music\Artist\Album\File.WAV or File.FLAC
I've tried the File>Library>Import>Import a single folder or Auto-Import but this does not work.
What am I doing wrong?
Also, is there some kind of operation manual some where that discusses all of these issues. If not, why not?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.  You must set the options in the Auto Import section.

Import M:\Music and tell MC to import FLAC and WAV types.

Your alternative is to let MC do it automatically.

For either, start at Tools/Import.

This is obvious. I've tried this from the beginning and this doesn't work.

Did you choose the Edit button and check the filetypes you want?

What Edit button? Where? I don't see it in File>Library>Import>Import a single folder

However, in Tools>Options>Audio    WAV  and  FLAC are selected

The edit button is in the Auto Import dialog. In the Import a single folder dialog, expand the audio branch and select the file types you want to import.

Yes, I see the Edit button. And all of the file formats are selected.

Since initially loading MC15, only the FLAC files have been imported but no WAV files.

I have 2 computers loaded with MC15. And both computers are having the same problem. Each computer has the music files stored on a dedicated drive. One has a hard drive the other an SSD array. I have approximately 10,000 WAV files in M:\Music\Artist\Album.

Is there a problem with MC15 importing my WAV files which were originally burned with EAC?

Are they compressed WAV?  That's not a standard WAV file.  Try a search here for DirectShow and WAV.

Do the files play in MC?

I can play all of the WAV files when I access them through "Drives & Devices" in MP15.

Have you tried moving a few test ones out of subfolders and see if they get picked up by the import? Put an album in your Music folder instead of Artist and see what happens. Good luck!

Have you tried to look in the Documents category on Media Center, cause the exactly same thing were happening to me with my mp4 video files, and when I looked on the Documents they were all been imported as documents instead of videos, it's a annoying bug and every time I import mp4 files I need to go to documents and set them manually to videos, and this is happening since the first version I've tried (media center 14).
