Webremote Controls
« on: June 20, 2010, 05:49:54 am »

Hi

I'm messing about with skins for Webremote and I wondered if there's a definitive listing of what MC controls can be called from webremote.  I'm particularly interested in be able to reshuffle the remaining tracks in a playlist ( having added albums to playing now).

regards

If you use:
Options > Media Network > MCWS (web service) > Open with browser...

You will see a list of functions available from the web service (the functionality that underpins WebRemote, WebPlay, Library Server, etc.)

There is no shuffle command currently, but we could add it if it would help you out.  Another option would be to make a command that could issue an MCC command (see wiki) so any command was possible.

Matt

Thanks for the prompt reply. Having messed around with touch screen monitors, and all the remote technologies out there for whole house music, with the advent of web remote I'm almost there for what i consider to be the idea solution.  Your new Airport type device and airport using airfoil completes the set.

Key to this is webremote running on anything to hand, be it a iphone ipad android device or plain old windows. I should add of course I mainly use MC for music.

Selecting what to play seems fine, but changing the order of 'playing now' by adding new playlists leaves all the new tracks down the bottom end.  Having Shuffle Remaining and the other cool stuff people usually expect would make a lot of difference.  A capabilty for including thumb nails along side the playing now long list would be quite cool.

I'll go look out the MCWS stuff in the meantime.
