I notice that when other people post a topic/question the Subject line is preceeded with "New" in a blue oval.  None of my posts show up with this and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong and why mine are different?

 :) they show up as long as new as long as you have not checked the post. since you posted it yourself, its not new for you, but for instance this thread had 'new' on my computer.
