Late MC14 License Won't Work in 15

Greetings,

I bought 14 just before 15 came around, and thought my 14 license would also work in 15. But, when trying to install 15, it says trial period has expired, and won't accept my 14 license when restoring.

Is it no longer the case that a late 14 license will work for 15?

Sorry, but an MC14 license doesn't work with MC15.  It's $26.98 now, but it will be $5 off this weekend.  You should receive an e-mail tomorrow.

Hmm, I was just going off the prior statement in the 4/1/10 MC15 features thread that " . . . Purchasers of MC14.0.154 or above have received an MC15 license that works with both MC14.0.154+ and with MC15." I'm guessing there was a time limit on this?

I was about to post the same message....  What exactly does:  "Purchasers of MC14.0.154 or above have received an MC15 license that works with both MC14.0.154+ and with MC15." mean?

March 22, 2010 was the cutoff date.

Check your e-mail from buy-button at jriver.  It will have the name of the license.

Or ask our system to re-send your licenses.  That's done from the Restore Page.  See the Purchase link above.

When that build was released JRiver started to deliver an MC15 license to all MC purchasers. MC14.0.154 and the later MC14 builds can work with an MC14 or MC15 license. MC15 requires an MC15 license.

The licenses are listed with the version number in the email that comes from the restore system and also the key file (.mjr) is named according to the license version (Media Center15-xxxxxx.mjr or Media Center14-xxxxxx.mjr).

So... just to confirm...  my latest license file (.mjr) says:  Media Center14-126639.mjr

But, when I do Help About from within MC it says: Media CenterMC14-154 (or along those lines)...

The license file is what drives the free upgrade?  Am I eligible or not?

That's an MC14 license.  If you have MC14 installed and licensed, you'll get a $26.98 price.  You can use the $5 coupon to get MC15 for $21.98.
