Instead of the multi zone playback I'd be satisfied with the ability to install MJB several times in different direcotries on the same computer, with different settings in the sound card department. This is easy in Winamp, the problem is that the sound card settings dosen't always stick! Is installing MJB more than once something that can be acheived with a trick, or is this impossible?

I keep seeing cryptic words like “bump”, “hehe” & other short, one or two letter answers to user’s problems.   They don’t seem to really answer a user’s problem or help in any real way.  They seem to be just taking up space & wasting our time.  What are they about?

We haven't answered yet because this is a tough one.  For whatever it's worth, we're thinking a lot about the problems (and hopefully solutions) of home networking with MJ.  We'll have to discuss more as we go along...

Doc,
Bump is just a method people use to bring a message back to the top.  Modifying a message does the same thing.

Hehe is "hee hee" -- laughter without sound.

Don't feel left out.  There are a lot of these that leave me scratching my head.

Erm a BUMP is usually just a user wanting to get thier own post back TTT (thats To The Top BTW another common one)...

As to a reply I am sure I replied to this this morning but the post dissapeared... Perhaps as my solution was not a MJ solution but (I will mention no name) another player in the PC ausio world... Or maybee it was just a glitch...

The multi zone soundcard playback issue may be solved... It does not look too pretty but IRemote can control multiple examples of (another player) and keep thier settings and route to either different soundcards or different ports on a multichannel soundcard... Combine this with a marix switcher you have multi source multi zone and I belive the author is working on a 'part mode' where one source is routed to all ports at once...

Thanks, Phreddy, but I don't own a handheld, and I don't even like them. I actually hate touchscreen (you might have seen me ranting against the Pronto in the AVS forum), so that's not a solution for me. If I could do the same thing with Girder and regular Winamp, that would be something else. ;->

And yes, the bump was something that went bump in the night to get attention.

I have not tied it but Girder may be able to control the IRemote program in a way that you can have seperate input commands (transports etc) for each controlled pair... How to poll them or display track lists is hard though...

For mow I am drowning in simplifying my multi processor household but soon I will have lots of tweaking time on my mits...
