Crash: 15.0.118: Crashes when running an auto import (manual) scan
« on: September 27, 2010, 09:48:29 pm »

Wow...nasty crashes when running an auto import. I do mine manually here...basically - I prep/tag outside of MC and then copy the newly tagged files to the network share. Then I run Auto Import via a toolbar button....I only work with FLAC files....put one new album out there tonight...and 118 had a complete meltdown. After several restarts and reboots....my library was a shambles and I finally had to roll back to 113...and I am watching it "rebuild" the library...it's suddenly "found" 1536 "new" files and it's analyzing and grinding away...

EDIT: It was adding and rebuilding to the Default library - which I generally leave blank. Switching to my "WHS Music" library seems tp be okay...and the new album that crashed 118 - goes in fne via 113....I must say - in almost three years worth of updates...this is the first ever roll-back....not sure what's happening here - but it must hate these FLAC files from this new rip....

Over to the crew....

Cheers!

Please see if you can get a log.

Well...I rolled back to 113 and all is well. Shall I give 118 a spin again....? Set logging to active - correct? Been a long time since I need to do a log...

EDIT: I put 118 back in play...will set up to log and post back if I hit anymore snags.....

Cheers!

Is it this problem?
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=59664.msg403826#msg403826

I am not seeing that here (yet) :)

I am about to import two new FLAC rips into 118. I will turn on logging and see what happens...

EDIT: Crash city...I had the logging on.....where to post? Or email?

Cheers!

Thanks for the log.

The log doesn't show a crash, but does show failures to import all the FLAC files it finds.  This is the last file:
\\SERVER\Music\Pat Metheny\One Quiet Night\12 Last Train Home.flac

Do you have any way to provide a copy of that file for us to test?

Thanks again.

Matt,

Mine shows a crash...@ 0876757 here's a snip...seems it was dying on Second Sight by Chick Corea....I just ran a bunch of tests on it...and there is nothing that I can find wrong with that one or any of the other Chick files.....

Also odd that MC seemed to dodge this one @ 0876788..and then carried on for a bit....

Mine shows a crash...@ 0876757

Yes, it certainly does.  It's early.

Anyway, it crashes working on this file:
0047565: 1728: Import: ImportNewFiles: Adding: \\SERVER\Music\Chick Corea Elektric Band\Light Years\01 Light Years.flac

At the same time, it's importing this file in another thread which seems to work:
0047565: 4616: Import: ImportNewFiles: Adding: \\SERVER\Music\Chick Corea Elektric Band\Light Years\02 Second Sight.flac

Is there any way to get me a copy of:
\\SERVER\Music\Chick Corea Elektric Band\Light Years\01 Light Years.flac

Thanks!

Matt,

I just sent you another log...I do not believe this has anything to do with the Chick Corea stuff....review the email and let me know what you think...

Cheers!
