m4a on MC 15
« on: October 04, 2010, 06:01:24 pm »

Since I updated from 14 I can no longer play m4a files via ASIO or WASAPI. I can only play them via Direct Sound or Kernel Streaming. I was advised (through computer audiophile) that ASIO and WASAPI was the best option but I cannot hear any difference. I run Windows 7 with an Asus Essence ST sound card and a Peachtree Audio Nova. Playback on my PC is set as S/PDIF Pass-through Device. Any advice on how to achieve best sound would be much appreciated.
Thanks

You probably just need the DCBass Directshow filter.  Check our wiki article on M4A.  It's on the "Main Index" page.
