Library server failed to start
« on: October 15, 2010, 10:59:06 am »

Hi,

I have MC15(build132) running on a stationary and netbook(for remote control).
On the stationary I cannot get library server to start on port 80(or other ports), port is forwarded from my d-link dir-635 router, and software firewall (eset) is set to allow all on port 80.

where could I start to search for a solution? is there a separate .exe for the library server that I need to allow on the firewall.

PS: deactivating the software firewall entirely didn't work either.

What happens if try the default port of 52199?

Running on one of the reserved ports (below 1024) might require administrative rights on Vista / Windows 7.

Thanks, guys. got it working locally now.  :) I set it to port 52199, and also found out the firewall had switched back from interactive filtering to automatic filtering somehow. But I still get a message in MC telling "not reachable from the internet". Could this be because I have both TCP and UDP ports opened on 52199? should only the TCP be open?

But I still get a message in MC telling "not reachable from the internet".

You need to configure port forwarding so 52199 incoming on the WAN routes to your server machine on the LAN side.
