I am fairly familiar with MC for playing music, but far less for photos.
In "images" mode, I double click on a thumbnail to bring it full screen.  Then I like to use the page up and page down keys to scan them quickly.

Is there a way to disable the fade-out/fade-in ? 
It short but annoying.

It's an option called "Disable transitions during manual playback" under Tools/Options/Images.

But it isn't currently working.  It is fixed in build 15.0.147, which should be available on this board next week or the week after.
