Windows media problem with radio
« on: March 27, 2003, 01:43:17 pm »

When trying to play certain radio stations from the media jukebox master list i receive a message saying "cannot determine the version of windows media player that is installed etc"

I have made sure that media jukebox is associated with .mpl files and it puzzles me that some stations work and others do not, can anyone help with this problem.

I have windows media player ver9 and media jukebox v8 installed

We tested 8.0.396, available in a thread at the top of this board, with WMP9.  It works on Win98SE and above.  WMP9 doesn't work on Win98.

I have Media Jukebox 8.0.396, and it does not work with WMP9 (I get the error message saying that WMP is not detected). Are you sure this really works?

Do You Have The Beta Version Of WMP9? if so there is an option to update the the recent version Of WMP9 (maybe that could be it).

Sorry, I neglected to say that I have Windows Millennium. As far as WMP9, I've already updated -- it's not the beta.

This is not true. I have Windows Millennium, and the 8.0.396 does **not** work with WMP9 (non-beta). Are there plans to fix this anytime soon?

There is a new release of MJ 8.0 that may solve the problem.  It's in the first post on this board.
