Hi,

I am using Media Center since many years. Today I upraded from Media Center 12 to Media Center 15 and I encountered following problem:

When I double-click an image in the library, the full-screen mode opens and I only see a white screen with two black margins left and right.
Media Center 15 didn't hang up, because I can use the right mouse button, change to other images and so on, but I only get the white screen for all images in full screen mode. This problem appears only in full screen mode, in other modes I can watch the pictures without problems.

I didn't change any options, so i can't imagine what I am doing wrong.

In Media Center 12 I do not have any problems viewing the same image in full screen mode.

Is there a solution for my problem?

Thanks,

Korbinian

That's very strange.

What build of MC are you using?

What OS?

What file types?

Hi,

i am using Windows XP and tried build 15.0.142 and 15.0.159. I had the problem in both builds.

File Type is .jpg and as far I could see it appears on every image.

I tried jpgs on my external usb-hdd as well as local stored jpgs.

Preview works without any problems.

Perhaps you should take a full backup of library and settings, and then reinstall MC15? Just to be sure, uninstall all versions and remove all registry setting containing J River? Just a thought.

Does Theater View work?  It uses the same hardware-accelerated drawing as image playback.

Since image playback is hardware accelerated, I would recommend updating your video driver if you're having problems.

Hi,

today I had time to test your suggestions.

I deinstalled MC 12 and MC 15, cleaned the registry and installed MC 15 again. It didn't work.

Theater View works fine, as far I can see.

I tried some more photos and was suprised to see, that i could open some fotos in full screen view. I am starting to assume, that I can open fotos up to certain resolution in full screen view. For example fotos with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 work in full screen view as far I can see, while a resolution of 3268 x 2448 and 4000 x 3000 doesn't work In full screen view.

I am using a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook E8210 with an ATI Mobility Radeon X 1400. Sadly this chip isn't supported by ATI directly and Fujitsu does not offer new drivers. One more info:I am using directx 9.0 and Radeon Omega Drivers 4.8.442.

Any further suggestions to solve my problem?

Hi,

I tried MC 14.0.165 and full screen view works!

Maybe that information helps finding the cause for my problem!

Did you try updating DirectX from Microsoft?

Hi,

took me another 2 hours, but I solved the problem:

I installed the newest version of Direct X -> problem still remains.

I uninstalled the ati omega driver package and installed the last official fujitsu siemens ATI driver (8.261.0.0) => now full screen view works for all images as far i can see.

What a strange problem!

Thanks for the support.

Misbehaved video drivers cause the world of computing a lot of pain and suffering.

Glad you got things working in this case.
