Double slideshow for dual-screen
« on: December 09, 2010, 04:35:14 am »

hi there, Jim, Matt,

I suppose we are a lot to use 2 screens with our pc's & it's true for me.
I begin to work with mes images with mc & for now with slideshow.
I write captions for a lot of pictures & in >image/display/settings/caption, i use the >caption field; so in slideshow display, i can see the picture & the caption, great.
But if i want to see different pictures on my 2 screens, i have to use 2 zones, active each one to launch slideshows.
It works but the problem is that the captions are visible on only one screen...
Bonus question! how can i see the same pictures on the 2 screens perfectly synchronized (the same slideshow) without changing windows display screen, only in mc ?

I can answer the Bonus Question:

1. Create two identical zones.
2. Link the Zone #1 to Zone #2.  With the "primary" Zone active, go to Player -> Zones -> Link Current Zone -> Link to "secondary".
3. Start your image slideshow playing back in Zone #2
4. Detach the display, move it to your second monitor and make it go fullscreen (note: you only need to do this once, it will remember the setting from then on)
5. In the main MC UI, which you can see now that your fullscreen playback is on the secondary display, switch to Zone #1.  Since the zones are linked, the slideshow will ALREADY be playing in Zone #1, usually in the Action Window's player.
6. Set Zone #1 fullscreen on your first monitor.

This will play back an image slideshow with the two zones linked, so the playback should match.  It won't be perfect down to the millisecond, but it works pretty well.

Thanks Glynor, i didn't know the link zones option existence & then it offers perspectives.
And i regret there is no online manual so that beginners & advanced users can see all the many mc possibilities ; there is the faq actually but i afraid that it's not exhautive... sorry for the digression.
So i tried but it don't works correctly; in the better way, picts are not synchronised otherwise the slideshow wants to stop on one screen but don't stop & try to replay & try to stop... beurk

It's on the wiki:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/ZoneLink

and I think it's in the list of MC15 features.

It's called a "Wiki".  It's there.

the wiki section goes to FAQ.
I meant the user manuel doesn't exist on the support page.

The FAQ is on the wiki.  The wiki is the manual.  Try a search there for anything you're interested in.
