[Solved] View Trouble
« on: January 03, 2011, 08:34:24 am »

I have some trouble with the file selection in a view.

Background:
I put together playlists to use a 'work-out' music (40-60 min programs with varying BPM's and a nice flow to be used when exercising).

For this purpose I have a set of smartlists & playlists:
0. Base Selection (BPM range, Duration certain range, rating 3 or above, exclude certain genres)
1. Excluded (playlist with manually excluded tracks)
2. For Selection (in 0. Base and not in 1. Excluded and 3. Selected)
3. Selected (manually selected tracks that I want to use in work-out playlists)
4. Used (in individual work-out playlists)
5. For use (all tracks in "3 Selected" less all track in 4. Used)

So far so good!

Now - I have created view to work with this with a few categories
- Selection (Type Playlist Group -> the above smart-/playlists, "matching ANY")
- BPM range (Type search list  -> different BPM ranges)
- Rating (Type Library Field -> Rating)
- WorkOut Playlists (Type Playlist Group -> the individual workout programs)

For some reason the view only includes a small subset of the number of songs in the 'Selection lists'.
For instance the smartlist "0. Base Selection" currently contains some 8000 tracks, but when I select this list in the View pane there are only some 275 tracks. The View file inclusion rule does not make any exclusions, and I don't inherit anything from the parent view scheme.

I am flabbergasted... Could anyone send me the right way to fix this?

Happy New Years!

Have you remembered to set the "Set rules for file display" under Customized View, and deselected the "Use patent scheme rules for file display"? You can set the rule directly to all your playlists.

That's the only thing I can think of right now.

The problem was the last pane in my view - as it was a list of all the individual playlists I had created, it only included the 'already used' tracks.
