Hello,
I did a bulk rename of my images/pictures/photos in MC.
Not file rename but just changed [Name] field via Move / Copy Fields -- [date (filename friendly)] to [Name].
All went well and about 30,000 photos got their [Name] tag changed.
Wasn't happy with the result and restored a backed-up library.
However, after I did Import with "Update for external changes" checked all changed [Name] tags returned..
I don't understand this... Those tags are stored in the internal MC database, aren't they? Why are they coming back? I restored a library from a few months ago and the same thing happened...
What's going on?
Is there any way to get around this?

MC can store the tag in the image file as well.

Try Library Tools/Update tag from Library on a few.

This sure worked.
Do you know where those tags are stored inside the files? I checked with ExifTool and there's no extra tags...

Maybe look tags with iTag

I think ExifTool shows pretty much all tags.. thanks anyway.
