Importing Blu-ray (BDMV) Folders With MyMovies Metadata
« on: January 05, 2011, 08:25:54 am »

I have imported my Blu-ray folder rips into MC to be played with another program.  I have done this by copying a temporary VIDEO_TS folder to the same folder as the BDMV which then imports it as a movie properly with most of the MyMovies metadata.  The only problem seems to be with the Duration.  It calculates that for the temporary VIDEO_TS/DVD folder.  If there is only one .m2ts I can point MC to that file and it computes the correct duration but this doesn't work when I rip the entire disc and there are multiple .m2ts files.  Is there any way to pull in the MyMovies "Running Time" as the duration?  Or is there another better way to import BDMV folders?  Thanks.

You should be able to map any MyMovies tag to a corresponding MC tag (ie, with the same name). So, create a "Running Time" string field and you should be right. This will at least get the value into your database and then from there, I guess you could create a rule or something to map Running Time to Duration.

Cheers.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Is there another "recommended" way to import Blu-ray folders (other than tricking MC into thinking it is a DVD)?

I changed my j river settings so that my blu ray backups are auto imported.
info on how to do so was given to me here
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=61060.0

I tag them by filling properties from filename.
Info on ways to tag here
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=61584.0

Once you have setup j river to auto import bdmv it will show up in file types
you can then use an external program to open index.bdmv by the following:
1)go to [options]/[filetypes]
2)set  bdmv to open with external program (custom)
3)select the program you want to use
4)paste this, quotes included, in the arguments box:   "[Filename (path)]BDMV\index.bdmv"

this worked with tmt3 but since i upgraded to tmt5 it isn't the same.
tmt5 opens but no video plays.
so now i select my video in j river, then tmt5 opens,
then i drag the video thumbnail from j river into tmt5. it then plays.
this is a problem with tmt5. double clicking bdmv's and ifo's doesn't work either,
but it worked fine with tmt3

sorry i can't help with mymovies. i don't even know what that is.
