Media Center 15 full and Kernel Streaming with HI Face EVO
« on: January 28, 2011, 06:04:37 am »

Hello all together,

i am Jens from Germany.
So far, I have my JRiver connect to the Musiland USD 01 and operated by ASIO at the DAC.
Since 2 days I use the HI Face EVO Converter with the squeeze update. The JR MC -> EVO communication over KS (Kernel Streaming) is excellent. Really wunderfull sound...
Now my problem:
In Asio JR MC ended after the last track of an album playback automatically. So my PC was able to go to Sleep Mode automatically.
In the case of KS the player dont stop after the last track. The play bar shows "Waiting". The player remains in this Waiting Mode. Therefore, my PC could not Shutdown automatically.
The Hiface Evo comes without native ASIO.
Is there a solution for this?

Thanks for any help
Jens

Also after the update on version 15.172 nothing changes.
After the last title of an album was played, JRiver remains in the mode "waiting".
Am I the only one with this problem?

I'm not sure what the EVO Converter is.  There was an old problem with Hi-face that required the correct driver version to fix.

On our wiki, you will find two articles that may provide possibilities to try.

DAC Settings
and
Audio Output Modes

Thanks a lot for your answer.
The M2Tech Hiface EVO is a USB / SPDIF converter (DDC). The driver only works with Kernel Streaming. No native ASIO support.
My question is:
Is it JR´s normal behavior to remain in the waiting Modus with Kernel Streaming after the last track of an album was played?
Or is it a Hiface driver problem?

Please help

Hi.
I'be been testing the EVO lately, and had a lot of trouble using Asio drivers with it. I'd like to check if kernel streaming is more apt for this config.

Where can i find a compatible kernel streaming driver?

Did you check for an ASIO driver update from the manufacturer?
