No output at rear speakers [solved]
« on: February 08, 2011, 06:20:08 pm »

Hey :)

Maybe you can help me... I tried everything... I have a "Teufel" 5.1 system and just don't get any music out of the rear speakers. In movies and games they are perfectly working, but they just won't when I play music. Neither in Winamp, foobar or JRMC15...
I tried to set up the room correction settings in the DSP manager, but there is no noticeable change after doing this.

Screenshot of my output config:

Screenshot of my Realtek driver software (sorry, in german):
http://www.abload.de/img/untitled-2pm6p.jpg
activated checkboxes in screenshot translated:
Optional Speakers
- Center
- Subwoofer
- Rear Speakers

Speakers with full spectrum frequency
- front left and right
- surround speakers

- Fill speakers
- swap center/subwoofer (otherwise i won't get any bass)

Thanks in advance...

Greetings,
Psy

Try ASIO or WASAPI if you can.

In general, the goal is to give the sound unmodified to whatever device can successfully decode it.

But if the source is stereo, MC can output 5.1, but you will need to run the "Output" DSP and set the number of channels you want.

For my Realtek, I have to set the rear speakers to Side Speakers, in the tasking section of the Audio Manager, right-clicking on the Connector retasking (see arrow).

Hey :) thanks for your answers, but the settings you recommended me to change didn't make it better at all..

@JimH:
I changed it to WASAPI now (ASIO didn't work) and it just sounds a bit different. I have no bass anymore (subwoofer seems to be mute). It acts like a 2.0 system now... only the front speakers make sound. What device do I have to use? These are my present settings:

@MrC:
I can't even make any changes to the connectors :( just for the front panel...

Maybe it is relevant, that i only have a OnBoard Soundcard (Mainbord is Gigabyte P35-S3G) and that I connect my 5.1 system by 3 stereo audio jacks (3,5mm)...
Oh and sometimes there is music out of the rear speakers at very very low volume (but not with the settings as seen in the screenshots)
