Last.fm problems with initializing
« on: March 13, 2011, 11:32:10 am »

I'm tying to configure MC16's relationship with my Last.fm account (paid) via 'Options=>Last.fm=>Manage Last.fm account' ... but I first get an error message "problem sending command to program" ... which upon closing then opens a message "Please authorize access ... using web page that opened ..." ... but no web page opened.  Could the problem be my preferred browser is Firefox?  Is there another method?

TIA  :)

Under Options in MC, choose "Services" and enter your info.

Under Options in MC, choose "Services" and enter your info.

Sounds like you are going to have to activate that notification again.  Out of curiosity try this route...

1. Go to  http://www.last.fm/home  log on to your account then click on the drop down menu next to your name and select "Settings"
2. Click "Subscription" tab, verify you are subscribed
3. Click "Application" tab, verify J River Media Software is listed there - if not, then the only way to get MC listed is to return to MC and trigger that notification window again and go to the web page that automatically opens.

Am using Firefox too.  I tried it twice and the page automatically opened each time.  I don't think it makes any difference but did you click on the "OK" in the notification you saw? (see first screenshot)

I see that MC is not registering with Last.fm ... but it must have something to do with the first error I'm seeing ...

I've stopped/restarted MC but get the same error   ?

Edit: let me add ... Windows 7 (64bit), MC16 build 149

Edit2 ... SUCCESS ... it took stopping/restarting Firefox

What happens if you log in with a browser outside MC?
