Library server help
« on: June 25, 2011, 01:53:50 am »

I'm sorry for asking this question again (sort of)

I have MC installed on my HTPC running media server.
I have "Authentication" checked.

On the advise of responses i got from another thread, i have the following set up

On my kids PC's, i have them connecting to the Library server.
On there computers, i have "Automatically sync changes made on client back to server" unchecked and is in "Party Mode"
This works perfect for me as far as protecting my Media Collection.
I have set up 2 blank Playlists for them to add music to. But with sync back to server disabled, the recently added music they add disappears when MC shuts down. I understand why it does this.
This is the one thing I don't mind being passed back to the server.
Is this a feature that can be implemented? Or any recommended ideas?

Thanks

I can see the problem, but I don't think there is a good solution.   Maybe the playlists could be exported and re-imported, but I realize that's a little clumsy.

yeah, i thought of the export/import thing. i played with it first before i posted the question. it works great for someone like me who knows what they are doing. but teaching the kids??? unless it invokes money, six flags, video games, they just don't listen.
