Will DVDs' Playback Without Addt'l Software?
« on: June 29, 2011, 06:10:14 pm »

Received an email notification of MC16' release and I viewed it's features.

Currently I'm using (and have been happy with) MC13 on XPsp3 platform.  It's only drawback for me was it wouldn't play DVDs without additional software (or was it codecs?).

Majority of MC16 features are overkill for my purposes but I'm curious as to whether or not DVDs can be played without the use of additional components.  In other words, whether the necessary software is self-contained within the MC16 installation?

Your insight would be greatly appreciated!

It will play a DVD without any additional software if you use the Red October Standard video mode.
