drop outs/clicks/pops
« on: July 04, 2011, 06:21:05 am »

Hello.

I am using my windows 7 64 bit as an audio source to my USB DAC.

I am experiencing audio drop-outs/clicks/pops on 44kHz, and it gets

quite worse on 96kHz (24 bits per sample).

I am running on Intel Core i5 with 8GB RAM.

LatencyMon shows all-green (no excessive ISRs and DPCs, and zero page faults).

Do you have any idea how to solve/debug this ?

Thanks.
Aviram.

Are you using MC15?  What is the full version?

This may help:

Thanks, Jim.
My version is 15.0.174.
I have already used the more specific Ayre-QB9 setup page.
I have also tried ASIO instead of the recommended WASAPI/event.
Please note that my 44KHz playback is 99.9% satisfactory. The
bigger problem arises at 96KHz (I get one drop-out every few minutes).
Also, I am not sure about the definition of drop outs/clicks/pops -
mine sound like a girl spitting (that's the best I could come up with ;)).

Thanks.

Try both WASAPI and WASAPI Event Style.  Try reducing the buffer size to a small number.  .10, for example.

See the "Weird Problems" link in my signature for more ideas.
