Deleting TV shows from a Library Server client is not working (from Theater View if it matters).  The first time I try to delete, it is still there when I restart MC on the client (not removed from the library).  The second time seems to remove it from the library but it is not removed from disk on the server.  This seems similar to a bug you fixed a while ago related to images not being deleted from a LS client which I seem to remember being due to files being "locked"?

Authentication is on and I am able to delete images via LS Client so something else is going on here.

Don't know what one could really do that would be "different".

In my case the recorded files are on the local drive of the server and the client does not have "local" access to them.

All machines Win7 x64 and the library is stored on my NAS.


I've tried deleting from thater view and standard view, both with the same result as described above.

I have both the library and recordings local on the server, however, the clients can actually resolve the recordings to the same location/path with a mapped network drive to the root of the recordings drive (i.e. t: on the server and t: on the client point to the same drive).

How about anti virus software?

Yes to all.  Antivirus is Microsoft Security Essentials and does not scan the recording drive.  I have a pretty standard setup.

No anti-virus s/w on my mc server machine, UAC is turned off and logged in as an admin account.

How about the client side?

Here's how I've been testing.  Maybe you could point out anything different between that and your configuration.

1) Make a copy of some television recordings in a folder C:\TV Delete\

2) Import those recordings on the server (while a client is connected)

3) Wait for the recordings to appear on the client

4) Delete a recording on the client from disk (permanent delete, not recycle)

5) Wait until the recording goes away on the server (or close the client)

I'm running the client in a bottle on a second monitor, so it's easy to watch both sides at the same time.

So far I haven't seen the issue.  Any ideas what might be the key difference?

I almost always delete right after I have watched the recording on the client so that might be a difference.  The recordings have also been recorded on the server and not copied and imported if that makes any difference.

By the way, for #4 I don't think I get an option for delete type from Theater View - it is just a yes/no for the delete.

Is it possible that another client has a file open when you're deleting it?

Or have you stopped playback?

Just the one client is accessing MC and playback is stopped when I try to delete.
