Fast Forward out of Sync
« on: July 22, 2011, 06:26:09 pm »

When we fast forward or rewind any movie be it avi or mkv the movie goes out of lip sync. The only way we can get it to sync again is to close MC and re start.

Using the latest MC and a mouse for navigation.

This has been happening for ages but we have just put up with it.

Is anybody else having this problem?

Is Videoclock checked under video options?

If so, try a benchmark under Help and report the results.

Once you stop skipping ahead/behind and see the sync issue, can you check whether another, minimal, skip using the mousewheel fixes the sync. Just scroll down one tiny click of the wheel. It may not work, but when I had sync issues this has worked in the past.

Also, what CPU and video card options are you running in that system?

Jim, the PC has an nVidia 9500GT, which is perfect for ROHQ; I believe most of the work would be handled by the card with LAV CUVID, and MadVR. I think there needs to be a new benchmark that takes hardware accelerated performance into account.

I am still having this issue with out of sync movies.

Has there been no improvements regarding this?

It is very annoying making us not wanting to rewind or fast forward.

I'm having the same issue. Using the VideoClock feature and RO Standard. I'm running Win7 x64 on a ASrock 3D Vision. It's a Quad Core I5 at 3.6 GHz or something with 4 GB RAM. Should be plenty fast. No Bitstreaming, standard audio settings, no extra filters.

I use bitstream so I have turned off videoclock. Even if we pause to do something when we come back its still out of sync.

I've found out that I have to hit stop and then play again for it to correct it self. It's been this way since I upgraded the build a few months ago. But I did not use newer builds before that, for a long time, so I do not know which build could have caused it.

That is such a pain when you wish to go back and find something you want to check out.

The solution for me, while inelegant, is better than having to hit stop. Just do a quick seek (left or right arrow) and everything syncs itself.

Well as I said we do that already but I would hopefully in the future that they can fix this problem.

Yeah, I didn't see that his is an old thread. I wonder whether the problem is LAV Cuvid or something else. I agree that it is rather annoying. Especially if you skip ahead to a part of the movie that has no dialog, and then you discover 30 seconds later that your sound is out of sync.
