Theater View ->Adding more Details to Movie View?
« on: August 27, 2011, 01:17:38 pm »

Is there a Way to add more Tags (Details) to the Movie View?
What I'm talking about:

At the point when browsing through movies and then (select Movie)pressing enter.
The Cover gets bigger at the right side.In the Upper left Corner is the genre Tag.
But there is much more room for more Details (Tags).
I would like to add director,Year,Actor and perhaps if possible (Movie) Description.
Is there a way to configure(edit) the view by myself?

Yes. You can do it individually for the different media types. Options\Theater View\Appearance\Customize file info panel.

Choose the Video template and tweak away.

Forgive me if I'm missing something here, but haven't you just described the standard Theatre View. I got that exact view without any adjustments - straight out the box.

Forgive me if I'm missing something here, but what's that got to do with the question? The views are meant to be configurable. To do so, one needs to know the object in question is a File Info Panel and where it's configuration settings are found.

Well pardon me for commenting that perhaps the default set-up might be just what the user wanted and that it might just be there without any 'tweaking' at all.:-X

Glad you got the answer you were looking for StuckMojo

Maybe I'm being a bit stupid (don't answer that!!) but I don't get how to add the movie cover art. I'm using MC16 and all my movies show a frame from a few moments into the film - usually the studio logo but sometimes just a blank screen or some random image. None of them give me a 'visual' clue as to what the film is. Two questions...

1. What is the tag (assuming there is one) that enables me to state the movie cover art?
2. Is there a way to get MC16 to get this information automatically from the internet like it can for audio? (And can this be done for other information like the director, actors, synopsis etc...) What I'm really after is something that looks like the view that is shown on the JRiver home page for a movie.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Martin.

Get the latest build from the top of this board, then right click on a movie and choose Meta Data Lookup Movie Info.  There are three possible sources.

Thanks for the quick reply Jim - I'm on the latest build 16.0.149 - but I don't see a menu option called meta-data when I right click on a video file. Is there some option I need to turn on the enable this?

It's called "Lookup Movie Info...". Right Click one of you movies and select it. This will give you two options to choose between. Wikipidia and TMDb. Note that when you pick one of the movies in the search, you can select Image Art and Information separately.

Thanks! I worked it all out with your help. Now have some lovely artwork and all the right information. Now all I've got to do is work my way through all 200+ films.  ;)
