How to dedupe change in network drive
« on: October 22, 2011, 04:58:02 pm »

My MC is currently pointing to a local drive on my server - F:.  I want to point it to a network drive on the same machine - X: (which is mapped to the F: drive).  I want to do this to make it easier to move things around in the future.  Is there an easy way to do this without creating duplicates in the library?  Thanks.

Take a look at the article called "Moving Files" on our wiki.

Thanks.  A related question to this.  I created a network share on my MC server PC pointing to a local drive.  I use this as a central location for storing my audio files for PCs around the house and I wanted to have the same drive letter on the server.  After running the import I notice that I am getting duplicates with the network share drive and the local drive.  I did not tell it to look in the local drive - File Location and Library all point to the network share.  Where is it finding the local drive and creating the duplicates?  Thanks.
