audio format burning cd's in cda

Can Media Center 16 burn discs in the cda file format?  If not, does it have a comparable format that will play on most cd players?

That's just an audio CD.  Yes MC can burn an audio CD.

is the default format .cda?  I've been choosing .mp3 but I want something more univerisal.
