Subtitle issue
« on: November 09, 2011, 09:41:03 am »

I donīt know if this has been answered, but .srt subtitles have bugs... Font is too small (and size-option donīt work!). I get subs like that:
When I switch to standard view subs are bigger:

Font options do not change anything...

What type of subtitles is this?

If it's sidecar subtitles, could you email me the subtitle file?  I'm matt at jriver dot com.

Finally, what is the name of the subtitle font you're using in Options > Video?

Thanks.

Font is the default.
I tested more subtitles (merget and .srt, .sub and .txt) and they all show too small:( (Is it only me???)
I send you the .srt...

Subs worked better earlier (but they were ugly :( )... I installed JRiver and I didnīt remove the older build before (it is working fine, but do I must do "clean" install?)

The sizing looks pretty good to me with that sample file.

What is your subtitle size setting in Options > Video?  Also, right-click that playing file and look in the subtitle menu.  What is that size set to?

Finally, does a different font make any difference?

Thanks.

What's your DPI setting for your display?  Is it something non-standard?

I wrote above that font-options do not make any difference (broken or corrupted?)... Rightclick->subtitles->size doesnīt do anything either... DPI is the default (96?)

I am using madVR and ffdshow...

I can't reproduce this, but I'm going to switch how we specify font sizes in the subtitle engine to a different system.

Please let me know if 17.0.32 (or newer) helps once it's available.

Thanks.

Now subtitles work, but they are really ugly again:( So, I use ffdshow for subtitles... Seems that subs are not rendered/scaled good with madVR?

Could you post a screenshot.

madVR should offer pixel-perfect rendering.
