video playback speed
« on: December 23, 2011, 08:51:45 am »

How can I increase the speed of videos during playback. I was using the Power DVD and it was very easy, you could increase the speed to 110%, 120%, 150% or 200%.
But in MC I couldn't find anything other than fast forward, and it is very fast for my purposes (5 X)
Thanks

You  could try the OSD.

Unfortunately OSD is usable only for seeking the video. It just jumps a couple of seconds.
But, I want to choose some permanent increases over the speed of video and of course accompanying audio and subtitles.
I think it is very useful for some movies with unnecessary and long boring portions, so I could view them in less time.
Is it possible in a future release?

You can fast forward / rewind, but that mutes the audio.

You can use DSP Studio > Tempo & Pitch to speed up (or slow down) the audio and video by any rate.  This sounds ideal for what you're trying to do.  It's not exposed in the OSD, because it hasn't been a common request.  You'll have to use the mouse.
