Error: Output directory could not be created...
« on: December 29, 2011, 05:53:42 pm »

I successfully ripped all the CD's I really value except one - "The Very Best of Elvis Costello and the Attractions".  Using MC 16 or 17 I get the error "The output directory could not be created for one or more files.  Double check the output director in the ripping options".  I'm using the same output directory I used for about 2000 successful rips.  There were a few other CD's that had the same error, but this is the one I really care about.  Suggestions will be appreciated.  Thanks, Chris N

I have had this same problem with several CD's.  It seems almost random.  The complete error message is:

The output directory could not be created for one or more files.
Please double-check the output directory in the ripping options.

Where do I find this output directory?  Why double-check when I haven't checked it once.  Why can I not copy and paste text from error messages  >:(

Thanks Jim.

I am still not clear what I would do once I got there but I may have solved the problem by upgrading to MC17.  The CD's that were causing problems are OK now.
