My Child Messed Up JRiver!
« on: January 07, 2012, 07:19:35 am »

My child pressed a bunch of keys on the keyboard during theatre view and now the screen is black when video is played.  There is sound, but no video.

Any help?

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling.

What version are you using?

Is there not a "reset options" that I can do?

I have no idea of what could have happened, but if the problem can be cured by changing the set options you can restore a library backup file that precedes the incidence.

The restore window shows two checkboxes. If your library is fine check only the "settings" box.

File > Library > Restore Library...

I was getting this without help from my child. I have not been able reproduce it.

But I switch to standard view or other type changes and i can get the video to show up.

CTRL+1 and CTRL + 4 can help. If that does not work and it's more permanent, look for a special buttons on the keyboard. If it's a laptop there's a high chance the child have hit FN + a "screen to next monitor"-or-something button.

Children have special powers that us "Adults" aren't even aware of!  :D :D :D

.....btw I just did a re-install and everything is back to normal.  On a side note after everything was up and running again I noticed that in the most current version (MC17.0.64) I can't browse albums within a Genre anymore in WebRemote.  Is it me or the latest version?
