Auto-Import problem
« on: January 08, 2012, 12:28:50 pm »

After upgrading to JRMC17 I seem to have a problem with importing video files.
All video files imported are being tagged with Media Type "Unknown". I have had this issue from time to time before when using JRMC16, but then I was able to change Media Type manually by re-tagging the files. This I can not do now. When opening the tag window only 3-4 fields are show even when selecting "Show all tags".

I've tried to remove the files, both from the library and from the disc, and then adding them again. Still get the same result.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Could you provide a link to a sample video?

Thanks.

One of the files importing as Media Type "Unknown" is this demo video:

I also tried downloading some trailers in other formats from this site http://www.h264info.com/clips.html.
Some of these clips are in .MP4 format and imports just fine. The issue seem to be with .MKV and .AVI files,

I can't reproduce this.  The sample file you posted imports and plays nicely.

Are you using 17.0.62 (or newer)?

Thanks.

I was able to get around this issue by creating a smartlist that shows files with Media Type "Unknown". Then I could change the Media Type.
I will try to re-install MC and see if that solves the problem.
