When I toggle list style from list to tiles and then restart MC, the style has jumped back to list in that view.

Is this new behavior compared to 16?

You have to set them on the server itself.

Changes to the Views themselves from a Client copy of MC do not stick.  This includes Theater View.

Of course, thanks.

I'm running MC on a headless server. When I try starting Theater View on the server I get the message "adapter 0 is not capable of operating windowed mode" (or something).

How would I go about changing the list style on the server then?

Just a quick note for anyone else curious... This also applies to which View "opens" by default.  However you "leave it" on the Server's version of Theater View, is how it will open for Clients.

So, for example, on my system at home, under Audio, I have a few different Sub Views that filter the list differently.  I can view "All Music" (sorted by Artist, Album, Disc #, Track #, then Name and in Genre/Artist/Album categories), or have a Favorites view that works the same but only lists Four and Five star songs, along with a few others.

Whichever of these views I used "last" in Theater View on my Server PC, becomes the "default" for any client that connects and opens my Audio -> Music view.

Not sure.

Does it work if you install a virtual driver (ala the mirroring drivers available for VNC)?  Otherwise, you might just have to pull out a monitor and plug it in.

The Theater View settings (including mode and last-used views) are stored in the Library.  So, it isn't so much that you need to do it on "the" server, more that you can only change these things when directly connected to a Library (not in Client mode).

So... If your Library files are on a network drive, just shut the server copy of MC down and open the library up directly on the Client Copy of MC.  Set it how you want, then close MC.  Open it back up on the Server and then reconnect your client copy.

That'll fix it for you.
