Windows Phone 7
« on: January 21, 2012, 02:31:44 pm »

I've been using MC for about 6 years. I just got a Samsung Focus S, and I know I can't use MC with it (I still use MC for my Creative Zen), but I was wondering if you could advise me on the best way to get my library from MC to Zune and from there to my phone? Thanks!

If you can see the phone as a drive in Explorer, you might be able to sync to it from MC.  It's worth trying.

Unfortunately no - Explorer doesn't show it that way, and MC doesn't see it.

Just point Zune to wherever your music is on your computer.
Go to Settings --> Collection
I just have my whole library in Zune and I go through manually and select what I want to sync to my phone.
Hope that helps

I want to select music from my playlists. My hubby and I have way too many songs on a shared server for me to go through and choose them manually! I wonder if I can import the playlists into WMP and then somehow into Zune.

I believe that you can drag and drop m3u playlists into Zune. I suppose it would update as you updated it in MC?

OK here's what works: Export all playlists from MC. Point Zune to the folder where the playlists (m3u's) are stored. Zune automatically converts them to Zune playlists. Yay!!  ;D

Um... since Zune dynamically watches folders (better than MC, in my experience) why not just point both to the same location? That's what I do. That way I can play my Zune subscriptions in MC too.

Zune is pointed to the same location as MC. I have way more music than will fit on my phone, though, so I wanted to have only the songs from certain playlists on my phone.

Ahhh gotcha.

I use Zune to manage the Zune / WP7 as it's a hassle otherwise.
