any suggestions on how to update playlists after moving formats so that the playlists point to the same songs in the new format?
I moved my wma files to alac using dbpoweramp. They are currently sitting in the same directories as the originals and jriver knows about them.
I now want to take my old playlists and update them to point to the same songs in the same directories but with different file extensions. Once that is done I will remove the old formatted files form the MC library.
Search and replace on the filename in the playlist does a rename of the source file on the disk and points the playlist at the old file with the new name. so if I have foo.wma and fool.m4a where foo.wma is in the play list then searching and replace wma with m4a in the play list updates the file name in the play list but also moves foo.wma to foo (1).m4a on the hard drive and I now have foo (1).m4a and foo.m4a on my hard drive with the playlist pointing to foo (1).m4a.
Other strategies to try?
