Library Server and WOL
« on: March 06, 2012, 10:55:58 am »

I have setup one computer in my house as the Library Server and the other computers are setup as clients.  Do the clients automatically send a magic packet for WOL?  And if so, does this work through the router for a computer outside of my home network?

Thanks,
Pete

Nevermind, I finally found the following thread which addresses my questions:

The WOL wiki entry leads to the thread I linked above.

I found the following instructions on creating a static ARP entry in my FIOS router and forwarding the magic packet to the broadcast ip on the LAN:

Now I have WOL and WOW both working for the library server.  Is there a way MC17 can get me a private office at work so that I can play my music louder?

Thanks,
Pete
