DLNA Control of LINN
« on: March 25, 2012, 07:55:56 am »

Hi,

I have 3 points architecture:
1. DLNA Server : one server running MC DLNA server and library server on WHS.
2. DLNA Controller : one computer running MC to control and manage library or IPAD running several DLNA controller especially the LINN Kinksy.
3. DLNA Renderer : LINN AKURATE DS

My problems are :
1. I can't control the Akurate from MC acting as control point.
2. The IPAD Kinsly DLNA control software crashes when accessing to MC DLNA server

I have tried several alternative solution, using several DLNA servers (Twonky, Squeezebox server, Mezzmo, ...). With all this servers, the Kinksy never crashes.

Thanks to support this problems.

PS : my first problem did occur several version ago and was addressed with late versions of MC 15

Try the latest build of MC17 from the top of the MC17 board.  It's 17.0.106 right now.

Try setting the option for "DLNA Extra".

2. The IPAD Kinsly DLNA control software crashes when accessing to MC DLNA server

I was also doing some testing with Kinsky Play To (as reported in another thread in this forum).

I was not able to crash Kinsky myself, but in the Play To function, it was quite easy to get Kinsky to go into an infinite loop !!
The case in point, is that when Kinsky sends a SetAVTransportURI, the renderer must respond by sending an GENA event (LastChange) that contains the new value of AVTransportURI. And if such a LastChange is not sent, then Kinsky will repeat the SetAVTransportURI infinitely for ever more.

Note: I was running Kinsky on a PC which probably has the resources to send SetAVTransportURI infinitely for ever more, and yet still appear to be operational. I could imagine that sending SetAVTransportURI infinitely for ever more on an iPad might well kill the application...

THanks for sharing your difficulties too.

I forgot to mention also that the kinsky on desktop don't succeed to see the navigation tree from MC dlna server but see all the other trees coming from other servers.

Try deleting all the DLNA Servers in MC and adding a Generic Server again.

I don't think so.
