I'm running MC17.  My AV receiver automatically shows up in the playing now zone when it is on... I guess as a zone?

Anyways, my Sony Blu Ray player can access MC just fine but it does not show in in playing now like my receiver does.  I've used that before to be able to edit queued content for the AV receiver but I don't seem to be able to find a way to do the same for the Blu Ray player.

Is there a way I can get the Blu Ray player to show up like the receiver?

Not all DLNA devices are Renderers.  See the DLNA topic on our wiki for more.

But try updating the firmware and reading Bob's posts about Sony BD players.  You can look your device up at the DLNA organization.
