MC update Frequency

Maybe you can release update every fixed time? (12, 6, 3, months) like any other software

My guess is that this suggestion will be massively turned down in here. My personal view is that I really appreciate the frequent updates of the 'beta'. They usually fix real problems really quick. The development of new functions in MC17 since the first official release is enormous, and it has been great to  start using these functions quickly (often just a few weeks development time from first request).

Keep up the release speed, please!

I am ALL for the small and frequent updates. Anything else would drive me nuts. Waiting months for new stuff you know have been implemented is not my thing.

If you want smaller update frequency, why don't you set your own update interval of x months and update then at that time? :) What could possibly be good about waiting longer for updates I wonder?

Under MC's Options you will find Startup/Update Channel.  You can set it to:

Beta (requires a password given to beta team users only)

Latest (same as the builld at the top of the MC board for that version)

Stable (same as the build on the Download Page)

The beta builds change about 3 times a week.  Latest changes about every 10 days to 2 weeks.  Stable changes about every 4 to 6 weeks.

You can automatically update at any interval, if that's what you prefer. From Help > Update Channel, choose a channel and 'Disable Automatic Update'. Use the Windows Task Scheduler to run the following batch file at your chosen interval...

Simple as that. Schedule your updates monthly, quarterly—and/or on your birthday and Christmas. As usual, it's better than any other software. 8)
