I've notice within the last week, MC is not updating changes I've made in the Notes field.

Meaning it will allow you to write to the field, but it will not allow you to leave it blank once you've written to the field.  

Brain teaser, I've been at it over the weekend... no success - uninstalled/reinstalled MC and built new libraries.

A few facts:

1.  I use the Note field to keep a list of tracks needed to complete an album.
2.  Until last week, basically you could make changes in MC (Notes) or 3rd  
     Party Tag Editor and see the change instantly.
3.  I just noticed it was not updating after installing v.125
4.  Tried to go back to previous version nothing makes a difference no.

Again, the problem is the notes field will not allow me to leave it blank.  it will allow me to change the text to whatever, but it won't allow me to leave it blank.

Any ideas.

Are you saying you can't blank it in the library or in the tag?

What type of files are you using if it's in the tag?

Yes.  I can't blank it in the library.  Once populated in MC-17 it will not go back to blank.

here's something else which may narrow down the issue...  If I go into MC 17 and write something in the notes field it will take it, but you can't see it outside of MC, it's not in the tag.

In short you can import into MC, but you can't export the tag from MC.  Is it possible, I've checked something in MC which says not to export/update tag.

I can't blank it in the library.  Once populated in MC-17 it will not go back to blank.

To make sure I understand, you pick one file, edit the 'Notes' field in a details list by pressing F2, and when you click away it discards what you typed?

I don't think importing empty tags has ever resulted in deleting the contents of associated fields. In general, that would be dangerous and unwanted behaviour. If you want to remove a note by importing file tags, you would have to put some value in the tag to overwrite the MC field (e.g., '-', '.', 'n/a', 'none'). But surely it would be easier to set the MC field to Save in file tags, and then just delete the value in MC. MC will then blank the file tag.

I also agree with his recommendation to use Media Center for tagging.

Got It...  I've simplified the matter... if it needs to stay populated, i'll just type in Complete.
