weird email from jriver
« on: April 20, 2012, 12:12:05 pm »

Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
mlist@listserver.jriver.com mailing list.

Messages to you from the mlist mailing list seem to
have been bouncing. I've attached a copy of the first bounce
message I received.

If this message bounces too, I will send you a probe. If the probe bounces,
I will remove your address from the mlist mailing list,
without further notice.

I've kept a list of which messages from the mlist mailing list have
bounced from your address.

Copies of these messages may be in the archive.
To retrieve a set of messages 123-145 (a maximum of 100 per request),
send an empty message to:
<mlist-get.123_145@listserver.jriver.com>

To receive a subject and author list for the last 100 or so messages,
send an empty message to:
<mlist-index@listserver.jriver.com>

Here are the message numbers:

We're mailing a newsletter now.  It appears our  mailer can't deliver the message to you.  I don't know the reason.

The mail address it's referring to is an old address (not included in this mail). I moved from that ISP years ago, but the mail are still ticking in now and then. This is another address than my profile mail. I do not know where this one is stored or how to remove it. It's my original forum signup and JRiver purchase mail address.

Those are probe messages from the last email (then end of March). The sending of a new email today triggered the flush of the undelivered ones from last month.

The system will try to deliver an email a few times and if it's unsuccessful it'll send the probe message twice and if the probes are not delivered it deletes the address.

Now the original message could have been undeliverable for one reason or another but the idea is to not remove an address if there is a transient undeliverable state but do remove the address if a message is never delivered.

If you guys have addresses you want removed, just email them to me or put the old address into the unsub link:

@bob
I am not sure if I understood you correctly. If the listserver gets another bounce it will automatically remove my email ID from the list.
I am not sure what's wrong with my hotmail ID. I am getting all spam/junk emails and I delete once I see if it is a spam.

I DO NOT WISH to be removed from listserv.

What should I do?

PLease let me know.

The problem with (e)mail is that you never know what you don't receive or why you didn't receive it.

Hotmail has trouble occasionally, and you'll be the bearer of those troubles.  Suggest using a more reliable email account to reduce the likelihood of these non-delivery issues.

I'm really sorry about the mess.

It looks like the last message (from March 29th) which had a fair number of images in it was rejected by a number of hotmail addresses (and possibly others). The message you saw was the system trying to confirm that your address was ok.

I'll make sure that none of the addresses that rejected that last email are removed from the list.

Thanks so much, I have been a customer for the past 4 years and hope to continue the relationship. If you need me to send my email ID via PM to confirm or something, let me know.
