Program won't run [Solved]
« on: April 21, 2012, 06:18:30 am »

I bought the program using Paypal today and can't run it. I get an error message giving me 3 possible causes. Tried all the things suggested inc reboot. I'm not aware of any other user accounts running the program but i do have version 16 showing in my list of programs in Control Panel that refuses to uninstall.  I've looked in my Windows Startup folder and can't see any references to jriver and I'm stuck.  Can anyone help please?

Try rebooting.

What does Windows say when you try to uninstall MC16?

Try installing as administrator.  A security program may be causing a problem.  Watch for errors when you install.

Windows 7?

More details might help.

Windows 7. I don't have version 16 to reinstall but I also noticed that I also have Media Jukebox 14 in my program list.  This won't uninstall properly either.  The message I get is the same whichever of the 2 programs I try to uninstall "There was a problem starting C:\users\Simmobb2\AppData\Local\Temp\RmediaUninstall.dll   A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed"

Our wiki has links to "Old Versions".  You could try reinstalling one and then uninstalling.

Uninstall problems usually happen if someone just deletes files manually without running the uninstall program.  Did you do that?

But even that shouldn't prevent MC from running.

Sorted thanks, re-install / uninstall of the old programs did the trick.
