Please assist with PS3 DNLA issue
« on: May 04, 2012, 11:35:16 pm »

Finally got things setup to try and stream at least movies to my PS3 and it does see the media server, but gets a DNLA protocol error 7522. Am running media center 17 with the newest firmware for PS3. Got about 150gb's of movies in one folder with sub folders for each movie. Googled the issue and have not found anything to resolve this and am really hoping you all have an answer to assist please? Thanks much.

Did I miss something as I didn't see anything different than what I already did both in the software on my server and within the PS3. Am I just not seeing something there? I did do this twice on my MC on my server and since my PS3 can see it, but just comes up with that protocol eroor, I thought it could be something else? Thoughts please? Thanks much.

Okay, I went through this with everything again on the chance something was missed. I am using mc17 and my ps3 can see it and upnp is enabled, but I keep getting the dnla 7522 error no matter what I have tried. Surely this isn't unique to me? Any further help is much appreciated.

... I keep getting the dnla 7522 error no matter what I have tried.

Exactly what are you doing when that error occurs? Browsing the library? If so what part of the browse tree? Or playing a track? If so what kind of track / format? Or something else? If so please be more precise.

According to this post the PS3 can only handle folder of limited size.  If you have tons gigs in one folder I think it flakes out.

What build are you running? If it's 17.0.132 or 17.0.133 there is a PS3 specific problem with those builds.
If not, perhaps you are running into a directory limit. You can get MC to break those down into groups by changing the DLNA views.
