Autoupdate issue
« on: May 10, 2012, 12:50:16 pm »

Today I learned that MC now has auto update feature. It was not the best experience. Instead of hearing a music at the morning to wake me up, I heard silence. MC decided to autoupdate itself but setup stuck on updating file JRTools.dll - it was unable to update the file. I pressed Retry and it was fine then. I see two problems here:
1 - unattended setup should have a longer timeout for updating locked files and/or monitor files and continue without interacting with user.
2 - it should be possible to set allowed time for autoupdates so there are no surprises. Ideally - do it Google/Facebook way and run update via Windows Task Scheduler so I can adjust the tasks the way I need them.

I've been having this problem with almost every build for over 6 months. It only happens on one computer, though, and I can't figure out why.

You can turn the AutoUpdate off in Tools > Options > Startup > Update Channels. That way you can do it when you need/want to.
