Can this custom comment tag be done in MC?
« on: May 21, 2012, 12:39:36 pm »

Morning,

Been doing some library housecleaning and I have about 40 FLAC tracks that are basically "one hit wonders" from various 90's bands. My plan is to create custom comps out of these tracks so I can group them instead of leaving them scattered as single tracks in the library. However - since my custom comp will have a custom "album" title - this new title needs to go into the Album field - thereby overwriting the existing correct album.

I want to preserve the original album title by writing a custom string to the Comment tag within each track like so:

"From the Album: "Some Album"

Ideally - would like to just bulk select all 40 songs and quickly move the album title out of the Album field and format it in the Comment field as above...possible?

Select the 40 tracks, and paste this into the comment field (presuming it is blank already):

   =From the Album: "[Album]"

You can paste it in a column field, or via Tag Action Window.

Excellent! The utility of MC and the ability to get help from folks on this forum - continue to astound me.

Cheers,
