This is going out now.  Watch your mailbox!

Is JRiver Media Center the best audio player you can find? Or is it the best video player?  You be the judge.

We hope you'll find that the answer is "Both!" If you haven't tried MC's video recently, here's an easy test.  Just pop a DVD in and play it. MC will play Blu-ray discs, too, if you have a reader like AnyDVD HD installed. You'll be pleased to find that MC will play any video file you may have -- without any setup.

JRiver is widely known as the best digital audio player, but it's now often rated as the best video player, too.   The very well regarded tech website, Anandtech.com, had some flattering things to say recently about JRiver Media Center's video capabilities. "Highly recommended". Anandtech's article is here: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=72016.0

And Missingremote.com said this a few months ago: "I've been playing with the beta for the last few days and am very impressed with the playback engine. WASAPI for bit perfect audio, EVR/madVR for the best PC video experience, and PGS (Blu-ray) subtitle support; plus everything just sorts itself out with the DirectShow filters. JRiver has created something very special!"  http://www.missingremote.com/news/2011-10-20/jriver-media-center-begins-media-center-17-beta

JRiver users feel the same way.  Here's jimmy neutron's reaction -- "Flawless ... faster than Superman ... MC installed, accepted the settings I gave it on the first try, and ran all auto-imports painlessly..."  http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=72297.0

Great video requires great audio, and MC has it. Perfect audio, with surround sound, bass management, lip sync correction, full subtitle support, and much more.

JRiver uses the widely acclaimed LAV Video and madVR, the highest quality DirectShow filters for video. MC's Red October DirectShow system means zero setup problems. Just choose Red October and run. It will automatically download, install, and configure all filters needed, and it is completely separate from the Windows DirectShow system, so there are zero conflicts with other DirectShow software.

JRiver Media Center can also be your doorway to television and video streaming - Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, and other sources of online video. It's simple, easy, and -- best of all -- a lot cheaper than cable.

Video streaming is now good enough to eliminate your dependence on cable and video rental. You can save by simplifying with JRiver.  JRiver can replace a cable connection that may cost you $1000 or more every year.  MC's TV recording and playback are second to none, and you also get the great MC audio engine.  Over the Air TV is free and the quality is higher than cable. A USB TV adaptor costs about $60.

If you've purchased MC17 already, then thanks!  You can update to the latest build for free.  Just download and install it.

Best Regards,

JRiver

Tip:  You can configure JRiver Media Center to show just audio or just video by choosing Tools/Options/General/Features.
