Meitner DSD Problem
« on: June 06, 2012, 12:59:48 pm »

Hello

I have recently purchased MediaCenter, however I am not satisfied from the product and would like to get a refund. Please let me know how can I contact you in this case.

Since we offer a 30 day trial, we do not offer a refund.

If you could explain the problem, we can probably help.

I wasn't able to setup my DSD file streaming for Meitner MA-1 DAC. This was the only reason I bought the software as I hoped to see it work. After more than a day strugling with setup I gave up, other software I just found works with default setup. There is no chance for the refund?

We're talking with Meitner right now.  Give us a couple of days to see what the problem is.  Here's what they say:

"Just letting you know SACD ISO support is broken in 17.0.165. Drag and drop SACD ISO into JRiver and nothing happens. Went back to 160 and everything works however no DST support.  ... I have to commend you guys for a fantastic player! I have been recommending it as the de facto Windows player to all our customers, distributors and dealers."

I have a Meitner MA-1 on my desk right now.

DSD bitstreaming works great for me using the following settings:
1) Options > Audio > Output mode > WASAPI - Event Style (also select the MA-1 in Ouptut mode settings...)
2) Options > Video > Bitstreaming > Custom > Check only 'DSD over PCM (DoP)'
3) On the same dialog, pick DoP Format of 'dCS, Meitner, etc. (0xAA)'

It's possible a newer Meitner firmware will support the new DoP 1.0 marker, but the one on my desk requires 'dCS, Meitner, etc. (0xAA)'.

Hi Matt,

Very excited to see that you have one in house for testing. I have been using the Mytek with MC 17 for DSD streaming and have been pretty satisfied. I recently too purchased a Meitner MA-1. The method you mentioned has worked, but I have been hoping ASIO DSD streaming would be an option.

Can you shed more light on that? I don't think DSD streaming will work with ASIO as of right now, yes? I have tried all variations with no luck using ASIO. WASAPI-Event Style works fine.

Thanks again for all your support!

I don't believe Meitner supports DSD with their ASIO driver.

It might support DoP over ASIO, but we don't do that.  We've discussed adding this, but I'm not thrilled about that idea since ASIO has a "correct" way to do DSD bitstreaming.
